Rebounds and Resources combined basketball and education for fathers at the Bishop State Community College gymnasium on Saturday, August 1, 2026. The event successfully wrapped up its second annual community resource fair and basketball tournament.
Spearheaded by Pivot Foot Creative Athletics and founder Monétlicia Pettway, the annual gathering was built to give fathers, youth, and young adults a dedicated space to connect through sports-based engagement and mental health support.
Organizers designed the experience to meet families right where they are, focusing on father-centered activities that made learning and connecting feel completely natural and fun.
For supporters like Victory Professional Development Center, the impact was immediate, sharing that “seeing our community come together is always a blessing.”
The event gave Mobile families a real, tangible boost as the community showed up to pour back in, proving that staying on your pivot matters and setting local students up for a strong school year.
