Our Story

Why UpLift Exists.

UpLift Mobile was founded with a clear purpose: Mobile, Alabama deserved a news publication that reflected the full richness of its community.

Not just its challenges, but its triumphs, its culture and its people.

We chose the name UpLift because we believe strong local journalism can strengthen a community by helping people better understand the place they call home.

Sometimes that means celebrating achievement. Sometimes it means introducing Mobile to people and organizations doing remarkable work. And sometimes it means asking difficult questions, examining important issues and going beyond the surface of a story.
