MOBILE, AL— Bishop State President Olivier Charles spoke to community leaders at the Downtown Mobile Alliance Breakfast Briefing held at Great Day Latte on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. The event fostered discussions on education, workforce development, and the role of collaboration in shaping Mobile’s future.

 

Charles highlighted several milestones at Bishop State, including record-breaking 2025 enrollment, the launch of a Center for Advanced Manufacturing Technology, and plans for new mixed-income student housing. These developments, he said, reflect the college’s commitment to expanding access and opportunity across the Gulf Coast.

“Education is the foundation of workforce development,” Charles said. “We have to be intentional about linking education with employment opportunities.”
