Phil & Foster’s 12th Anniversary at Callaghan’s Irish Social Club

Date:

Phil & Foster’s 12th anniversary show at Callaghan’s Irish Social Club last night was a true “wingding” for the Mobile community. It’s impressive that this journey began in July 2014, when Phil, Stan, and José Santiago, the three fourths of the Deluxe Trio, first claimed their spot as the regular Wednesday night act.

What started as a simple weekly gig has evolved into a staple of the local scene. Last night, the energy was dialed up even higher as the duo welcomed Spencer Plasse on keys and John Hamilton on drums to celebrate the milestone.

The Phil & Foster 12th anniversary shows why Callaghan’s remains the “Oakleigh Town Hall.” While the venue has been a fixture since 1946, it is the consistency of acts like Phil, Foster, and José that keeps the heart of Mobile’s music community beating .
