The 8th Annual enditnow Family Day is officially returning to Cathedral Square this Saturday, August 22, 2026. The event brings local families, city leaders, and advocacy groups together for a day centered on community awareness, prevention, and support.
Running from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the free public event aims to break the silence surrounding domestic violence, human trafficking, and all forms of abuse through an open, family-friendly environment.
Organizers emphasize that while the core subject matter is serious, the event takes a proactive stance on community well-being. Area Director Robert Soto noted during a recent interview:
“While this is a heavy topic, we want to help everyone to be aware. And we really do a positive, proactive approach talking about prevention, awareness, love, and hope. We want to talk to children, teenagers, young adults, and parents to get ahead of this epidemic affecting our community “
The 8th Annual enditnow Family Day is built to pull the whole community together, young and old. It features a solid lineup of local resources and family activities. Representatives from the Mobile Police Department, prevention services, and Penelope House will be on-site alongside city leaders to connect residents with important support networks.
Alongside those important community resources, families can kick back and enjoy live music, a bounce house, a petting zoo, safety fingerprinting, health checks, a blood drive, and a community picnic stacked with free food, drinks, ice cream, and roasted corn.
The heart of the afternoon kicks off at 12:00 p.m. with the “Love Shouldn’t Hurt” march. Participants and survivors will have the opportunity to sign a special “Remember Banner” to honor those affected by violence before carrying it through downtown Mobile.
Ahead of the march, a community group photo captured by KC Photography is scheduled for 11:50 a.m. at the park.
Residents across Mobile and the surrounding areas are encouraged to attend, participate in the afternoon discussions, and utilize the available local resources.
