Ticket sales have officially launched for Mobile’s premier HBCU football classic following the official 2026 Gulf Coast Challenge press conference at Ladd-Peebles Stadium on Tuesday.
The 9th Annual Gulf Coast Challenge will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026. This year’s event features a high-stakes SWAC rematch between the Jackson State University Tigers and the Alabama A&M University Bulldogs. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, anchoring a multi-day festival weekend featuring a high school career fair, a parade, and a massive live concert series.
After dropping last year’s high-scoring matchup 57-24 to Jackson State, the Bulldogs want revenge on their home-state turf, heavily relying on several standout athletes from the immediate Mobile area. Meanwhile, Jackson State enters with a revamped roster shaped by summer transfer portal additions, looking to extend their four-game winning streak in the Challenge.
Football fans can actively secure their spots early. Gulf Coast Challenge 2026 tickets officially go on sale July 1 through the official event website. A single game ticket grants fans access to all three days of stadium festival events, including the Friday night concert series. Organizers expect high demand and a rapid sellout.
