GeekFest Semmes is here! Saturday, August 15, 2026 is bringing a full day of pop culture, tabletop gaming, and hands-on art to the Semmes Community Center from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Festivities kick-off at 11:00 AM with Eric Dupre’s Underground FX Lab, where local creators can get a behind-the-scenes look at special effects makeup, creature design, and professional molding techniques. It’s immediately followed by a fun, interactive Sing-Along Panel at 12:00 PM.

As the afternoon rolls on, the schedule splits into action with a dual lineup at 1:00 PM. John Lebatard Sr. leads a live-action role-playing (LARP) battle demonstration, while Nathan Leccese and John Lebatard Sr. co-host “RPG Throughout the Decades: Players vs. AI,” to tackle how tabletop games are changing. Later in the afternoon , the Creative Collective takes the floor at 2:00 PM.

The schedule stays packed with Voice Acting 101 featuring Jennifer  Tra breaking down character creation and vocal performance at 3:00 PM, followed by Brian King’s “Build a Beast” panel at 4:00 PM. Throughout the entire event, visitors can also enjoy tabletop gaming, art display voting, a free gaming truck in the front, laser tag in the back, and local food trucks.

It’s a packed Saturday for anyone into fandoms. The diverse lineup offers an engaging experience for creators, hobbyists, and pop culture enthusiasts alike.
